Chennai, February 8, 2019: In yet another pioneering initiative, AVTAR Group in association with British Deputy High Commission (BDHC), Chennai has announced the “Inspiring Second Career Woman” (ISCW) Award for women professionals living across Tamil Nadu who have returned to their careers post prolonged breaks in their professional lives.

To celebrate women comebacks in careers, the award will be given on the International Women’s Day to those professionals who off-ramped and have had successful career re-launches.

“Nearly fifty per cent of Indian women take a break in their careers at least once during their professional journey. This large community of Indian women are often ignored by hiring managers. ‘Inspiring Second Career Woman’ Award seeks to provide a recognition to this community of ‘Returning Women’ or ‘Second Career Women’ and respect their stories of career comebacks,” explained Dr Saundarya Rajesh, Social Entrepreneur, Founder-President of AVTAR Group, announcing the nominations for the Award. “The International Women’s Day is the most appropriate day to celebrate the achievements of these successful women”, added Dr Rajesh who is leading this initiative called the “Inspiring Second Career Woman”.

ISCW Chennai will be INDIA’s first ever such award that will throw the much-needed light on the resilient Indian Women Professional, who have demonstrated resilience in pursuing their professional goals while being champions at home.
